History

The UNESCO Collection universelle de musique populaire enregistrée (World collection of recorded folk music) was a wide-ranging survey of ethnic music supervised by the Rumanian ethnomusicologist Constantin Brăiloiu. It included the first commercially released Sephardic "field recordings". These particular recordings were mastered at the Musée de la Parole in Paris, under the auspices of Léon Algazi.
