History

Levy Brothers had a large record retail business in London and during the 1920s produced their own Oriole & Levaphone labels. (Oriole was revived in the early 1930s and then in 1950 it was revived again. All these records drew from American sources.)

Separately they produced a range of client labels for specialist markets. These labels included "Radio Polskie" and "Polonia" (Polish), "Degel" and Kol Zion (Jewish) and "Echo" (Ukrainian.) These Bevis Marks recordings were part of their custom pressings.
