Why this recording appears on our home page

The Canadian group Gerineldo is one of the few performers to concentrate on the Moroccan repertory. Gerineldo's recordings were difficult to find in North America, but in Spain they were re-released on Saga, a prominent roots music label. Distributed in department and specialty shops, they came to the attention of the local folk community. Member Dr. Judith R. Cohen's work as a leading researcher has further heightened the profile of her recordings and those of Gerineldo as well.
